Those projects where they’re not bad, but you think- “damn, this ain’t hittin like the last one”
the purgatory between artist rebirth and the fall off
Kanye: Cruel Summer/Yeezus: after grad/mbdtf/wtt/cs I really thought Kanye was going to change music I still remember how magical that CS intro sounded. Then he dropped Yeezus which wasn’t bad but was sloppy and rushed. First real sign of Ye getting washed
Kendrick MMBS: the gap between damn and morale was 5 years and all he really had to say was a throwaway pandemic bar and copied Hov using an album release as a launchpad to offload cheating allegations
Drake Views: one of the biggest moments in modern hiphop and he chooses to make a bloated mess for streaming. Truly the start of the end as all his projects afterwards p much follow this archetype
I know you breath smell like dookie with that s***ty taste
Dawg woke up with a plan to piss everyone off on ktt2 this afternoon

Views definitely wasnt perfect but it wasnt behind the curve
It was literally right on time lmao
Yeezus hate is dusty in 2026.
Like I can understand if you were a Fantano stan from 2015 repeating the whole "he just copied Death Grips" s*** but hating on the album in 2026 is just dusty af.
It's like when niggas call TPAB "critic bait." That's such a dusty af opinion stuck in the mid 2010's that it almost feels like a troll or LARP.
Bait thread
casual dom fans not gonna wanna hear this but yellow album was when i first noticed doms rapping was starting to fall off (really love half of ghs tho which came out after yellow album)
then he became a completely different rapper by the time he dropped by dom kennedy and hasn’t really been the same since
2 of em are correct
Insano was 5 years too late

Views was lowkey ahead of it's time if not the new Blueprint for the current era's idea of what an album is
Mans said all Kendrick had to say on MM&TBS was a pandemic bar...
"Do you fools listen to music or skim through it"

Bad for me. I remember during the lead up to that album there was a lot of rumors flying around that Michael was going to return to the Ben sound. I got myself so hyped for that s***.
As you can imagine it was a pretty disappointing first listen. It's grown on me a bit since but he was never the same to me after that
Every Cole tape since Friday Night Lights
