Dilla sent ripples out into the world

Definitely deserves their props even if they aren't as revered as the 'Neo Soul' debuts that came after
Trying to think of which album would be considered the first hip hop album that could hold up/had flows that would still be usable today & I'm not sure i agree with it being Illmatic in 1994, 1993 is arguably a top 5 year in hip hop
(No slight to 80s/golden era rap obviously although rap styles took a jump, hell I love Paid In Full, Criminal Minded etc, loads of albums from that era. But golden era rappers (during the golden era) tend to have simpler 'A, B, C' flows)

Explains the current state of rnb
That was already in order though. Hndrxx is a result of what came before
Caused an immediate vibe shift in hip-hop for the worse that the genre is still recovering from
Pi’erre production undoubtably changed the genre

Curious how this changed pop
Obviously an incredible album and a classic but curious

I just realised that Pharrell probably signed Robin Thicke as a Justin Timberlake replacement

people always give Blackout credit for making pop more electronic but I would say this and Loose were the first albums that made US pop lean more into European club sounds (e.g. the trancey synth lead in My Love is unprecedented but then 2007-2011 many songs sounded like that).
I feel one side of posts itt are posting albums that are internal jumps for artists within their discography and then the other half is posting jumps that changed the state of music (whether for the best or worst)
Either way I’m cool because this is good hoops lol

My love is crazy I hope people know Danja did that on the solo and not timbo
Hmmm could you argue black eyed peas and even early Usher did that as well?
Even outside of that I do want to give that credit to Brittney slightly because I never heard some s*** like give me more before. That s*** changed my brain chemistry for a while

FSLS was made in 2005/2006, the Black Eyed Peas and Usher followed after, in 2008/2009.
I'd say it's JT -> Rihanna/Britney -> Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga -> everyone else..
