That album isn't hailed as highly with Lana fans as it is with new fans and critics, because it's the most uncharacteristic album in her discography. I personally was letdown because I heard the leaks and singles prior to the album and was expecting a folky psychedelic masterpiece, and the final product felt more half-hearted and tentative.
what's your top 3?
@Teal_ killing it with the topics lately bro
appreciate it bro
you know i need your two cents on the topic!
i just feel like we have so many more interesting acts these days. he was that nigga when he started out, but everyone's time comes sooner or later
I really don’t think this is true.. we are in a climate now where u can kinda predict the features of a mainstream release.. he had dean blunt & dev hynes all over a mainstream rap album, the risk/decision is admirable.
trap lord
ferg's career after trap lord
appreciate it bro

First one that came to mind for me

yeah that's true. i'm cool with being on the wrong side of that
It’s an absolute step down but not THAT bad of an album
Its bad bro & he gave all his good beats to Pac
So forgettable
Stay Dangerous got has a nice amount of good tracks on it. I think so at least, but I didn't like My Krazy Life and never listened to Still Brazy so that might be why I'm cool with Stay Dangerous
He stepped up his rapping on Still Brazy, the G Funk sound fit him like a glove, and he showed he could stand on his own without Mustard. Definitely an album worth checking out

If the production was there, it’d be a solid album all around, the writing was still good, definitely needed the Dre touch
Posting this mainly because I want to hear people's takes on Coloring Book

I think Coloring Book is decent but The Big Day is mostly unlistenable with a few okay songs
It’s not super expressive production wise but the writing all felt really good and concise and it felt like she really focused in on the music that time around but I can see how that causes things to lack for people who were fans of the whole package
One thing it made me realize was that she's going to be an everchanging artist and that album was a watershed moment that was needed to happen. Either you're going to move with her and not tie lana to her traditionally cinematic sound or you're gonna separate yourself and hold onto to nostalgia. It might not be my favorite album but I understand its importance and impactful it was for her career.

I respect it
Imo its def a high example of sophmore slump
Dope it didnt ruin him tho while propping Pac up to do the double disc version for AEOM
Very dope how he cared about his mans so much to the point he gave him the best beats he was holding just to make sure he was good & ready to go straight out of jail
