Call Me If You Get Lost
Ima huge Tyler stan, but that album is a glorified mixtape
It has its moments, but it’s not as consistent as any of his previous albums (sans Cherry Bomb)
Don't forget MDM, Its not on par with that. Abel still has it in him to make something special so personally I won't give up
xotwod
true lowkey
its dead not on par with MDM when i think about it,
but Dawn has MOMENTS of greatness like real greatness
i think the reception that @op is talking about around Dawn, isn't that it's seen as bad
he's always found success in finding a balance between pleasing his hardcore old fans and his new core audience that make up the bulk of his streams/merch sales/etc
but i think Dawn was him trying to do that, while also making music for himself
that's why i like it, but i think didnt resonate with everyone the way after hours did on release

i mean tyler literally presented it as a glorified mixtape, so i guess no one was surprised lol
An Evening With Silk Sonic should've been seen as a classic the moment it dropped
Beyonce's Lion King soundtrack should've gotten more praise than it did
More Life is Drake's second best project
Things aren’t able to be considered classic until 7-10 years after they drop. Classic means standing the test of time
Negativity produces more dings
Pablo. People absolutely love it, so much so calling it top 3 ye. The whole era is iconic as f***, but the album itself was just so messy and all over the place, it’s never clicked with me. Some great moments, but also a lot of bad ones that if anyone else made, the reception wouldn’t be as positive.
It’s not my least favorite ye project, but it’s the one I scratch my head and wonder how people say it’s better than his earlier work. (His stuff post- Pablo I could understand at least)
a lot of ppl say this over and over again but its true
pablo was a lot of pals first kanye release they got to be apart of, add that with this being the first of many to come "public" listening parties
pablo kicked off a lot of s*** for the second half of his career, that are now seen as regular ye antics, but weren't really as much of a thing until that era
And keep in mind reception could change over time. Just give it a while and people might come around. I have a feeling Dawn FM is going to be like Views, hated on release but over time became a classic
Who hated on DawnFM besides ktt?
S*** is possibly aoty
Yeah more so looking back, initial reaction was expected but its surprising how much KTT now loves that album. It's the new Yeezus around here(everybody's favorite Ye album)
Pablo birthed a whole generation of new Ye fans tbh that’s why I see why people love it so much plus that era of life was perfect for a lot of us but as an album it’s just an 8/10 and the start of him being all over the place. There’s lots of eh tracks on there in hindsight

nothing wrong with a mixtape, there's mixtapes that are hard as f***
but feels like a step back from FB and Igor combo
i love some songs on that record, but not listening to every song
actually ur lowkey right, i feel like reception would be so insane if he just released it as a "mixtape" and did smaller shows the major cities, before going back to festival and arena circuit

8/10 is still really damn good
Could not understand the love Cudi got for MOTM 3. S*** was same old same old. Weak Cudi. Idk. At least it's basically forgotten at this point

was a pretty good first listen, but I can barely go back to that album if not at all
8/10 is still really damn good
Yeah don’t get me wrong it’s a good album. The messy style worked here but it’s honestly not better than KSG or Donda imo
Dawn reception was weird
I don’t get how some ppl really thought it was a crazy ass album
Like I don’t hate it or anything, but some of y’all act like it blew After Hours or even Starboy out the water is wild to me
DAMN. General consensus seems to have come around though. Most opinions on it I see now are that it was a solid album rather than the masterpiece people were making it out to be.
people who try to paint DAMN as his best project or a masterpiece are usually stans, or people coping because they don't like GKMC or TPAB as much as most people do

Definitely blew Starboy out the water
AH its close but Dawn just edges it for me
Tf
was the messiest most poorly composed album that i heard all year, i had no clue what you niggas were seeing in that project
a blemish in an otherwise pretty spotless discography
