Dredd go hard to me.
Watched it on Netflix and i thought it was a solid action flick. Shame it never got a sequel
They couldn’t afford anymore glitter
I’m sorry my KTT fam but yes, I thought it was a horrendous piece of s***
Antidote huh buddening you I think bad is a stretch. Was very similar to raid and very much a one time watch
Garland joins Neill Blomkamp in the club of formerly-revered sci-fi filmmakers
Ridley Scott started that club btw
I always wished those two would collab together on a project, their styles would blend so well together on a scifi joint
they were both praising each other around District 9 & Dredd's releases (back before Garland put out his own films) & it felt like it could happen

Yup I’d rather watch the raid fr. Idk I love Alex especially with Ex machina and annihilation but him ghost directing Dredd is something I would’ve kept a secret
Idk if I can see it
Yeah the moments definitely passed for it, used to picture it as Garland doing the script & Blomkamp directing it

Ridley and Garland have more than one good fim

thought the whole hysteria around Joker had killed that sorta discourse. those journalists all had egg on their face after it released & nothing happened

Well let’s hope it stays that way with Joker.
That movie could still be interpreted as fuel for some future wrongdoer, so I think the journalists’ concern was justified.
But as for Civil War, I’m not getting the impression that it could inspire real-life violence, of course speaking as someone who hasn’t seen it yet (the trailers included).

Yeah for sure. I understand if someone doesn't like or agree with the film's messaging & I could see people misinterpreting it but anyone that lays any of that country's problems at the movies feet are just operating on bad faith or have on their own agenda. It's crazy to me that there're people that think any actions that materialise irl can be blamed on this movie being incendiary at all
I'm sure that journalist was genuinely curious & wasn't being glib but that line of questioning feels kinda tired & naïve at this point

Femcel narrative with Joker 2 will be crazy
