Can’t think of a better actor to play that lunatic fr..
I need to watch the original. He a lunatic huh
This is great. I can see a lot of people being angry that this isn’t a validation of their political ideology, but that’s clearly not what the movie is about. It’s more about the human cost of a conflict like this. It’s well made, well acted, and it looks great. It’s absolutely worth a watch.

THIS THIS THIS. If people are desperate for validation, run back to twitter with the other fake political heads
King of comedy vibes???
I can see it feeling similar at the start but it goes way beyond that type of crazy
I enjoyed the parallels garland draws between Lee and Jess, both having started their photojournalism careers at roughly the same age (Joel mentions this) both having parents with heads in the sand. finally culminating when Jesse takes on the cold, calloused perspective of Lee in the movie’s final scenes
Score was perfect too, loved the sturgill track and whatever the pulsating song was that played during the highway montage.

Yup she was essentially playing a younger version of Lee and then eventually became Lee, as Lee became disconnected from the world
While what Alex himself said is said in a rather stupid way, I kind of understand the concept of this film being as politically “neutral” (while actually not really being neutral at all).
If they made it clear that this film’s villains were right wing conservatives and the GOP then it’d ultimately end up being a film preaching to the choir, and anyone even remotely on the right would immediately dismiss it and write off the entire central conceit which is this is something to be AVOIDED because of how nightmarish of a scenario it would be.
In its current state maybe the film has a better opportunity of being a shared experience.

The president in the film was someone who used air strikes on civilians. Wether that rings truer to a left wing president or right wing is for y’all to decide

IMO it was pretty clear that the US/pres was right and WF was left

he also disbanded the FBI. he's so obviously Trump (puckers his lips at the very beginning) I don't know how the WF would be in the wrong for taking his administration down
