including nonfiction?
it would help lol, I don't like nonfiction at all though, I read for escapism mostly

understandable, I used to be the same way. Now, most of my reads are nonfiction because I feel like it's more applicable to life.
Op took his tests in a separate room in school

I could see what you mean if you said all fiction books, and even further all fiction books written to entertain, but written word adds a level of detail that graphic novels don't

idk, in the age of YouTube especially, I just can't do it, I don't have the attention span, in school I'd take any shortcut possible not to read novels and textbooks

U gotta train it, human brain is so malleable. If you condition yourself with reading even just 10 minutes every morning it gets a lot easier

don't get me wrong, I read news articles all the time for my hobbies, but walls of text have no hope for me lol

Why not just read graphic novels ? There's a lot out there
Part of why people read is because they wanna use their imagination and enter the world of the book that way
Sometimes I'll search fan art of a character from a book, or even an official illustration on like the cover or something and be like nah that's not how I pictured em at all, I prefer my version
Tbh we should just get rid of all of the text and have pictures only too mentally exhausting reading all those words
It's just an attention span thing. I used to struggle with walls of text as well, but when I cut down on the time I spend on social media, I can focus a lot more than before now
