He added a new track loner at sunset
It’s sad that he couldn’t finish these songs…thought they would be more complete
Prom king, hurts me, loner at sunset, splash wave repeat had so much potential but they are legit just snippets/ snippets on loop
Album is cool, but niggas paid Chixtape 5 DUST just to hype this up. Real music kinda lost. Deluxe is nice tho, I love the new jack swing influence.
paying homage to the same decade = same album
with as many dumbass yt/twitter comments I see of "durr tory made the better 80s album ", this statement not all that sarcastic for folks
Ima just be honest cause it don’t matter this deluxe alone at prom s*** is fire asf
sad it had to be him this better than anything meg could ever output
Deluxe was cool but I wasn’t overly impressed. I appreciate he took the chance to even do something like this to begin with. I can remember not really caring for the original album though.
Pros - Deluxe tracks are cool nice variety and addition to the album. Crystal Strawberry & Hurts Me are fantastic the other tracks are fine but not terrible by any means. Production is a vibe for sure isn’t lacking at all in that department.
Cons - I hate the breathy singing lol it does nothing for me and drenched in auto tune isn’t convincing me otherwise. Sometimes that just works I can’t lie like on Color Violet. Poison Ivy and Shut Up & Love literally sound like Chris Brown songs. Not that it is bad but that’s just all I hear.
You description about chris brown made me change the way i listen to this album

In a good or bad way?đź’€
relistening to this now
crazy how cohesive this was as a full album. never expected to like a tory lanez project really, but this is one of my fav recent pop albums and overall a very memorable release lol
convinced he would've taken off a lot and reach a wider audience than he ever had before with this and its direction, had that shooting not happened. tiktok already blew up one of the songs more than release. reminds me of eddie murphy's work in the 80s, really capturing the energy of similar acts but with their own uniqueness compared to like rick james' own music and MJ (tory w the weeknd)
