Man, it’s not necessarily that he’s wrong (although I know nothing about Big Sean’s acting)…it’s just that he’s so negative a lot of times and forces it like this article here. Just seems unnecessary.

Alphonse Pierre is the worst writer at Pitchfork and has been for years. Why they decided to make him their champion of Hip Hop is beyond me. Worst takes, and even worse writer. BIG pass.

I’m just misunderstanding your wording, when I read “he’s not necessarily wrong” I take that as at least partial agreement
But Alphonse definitely writes about s*** he likes, and when he likes something he’s very direct about it. His newsletter/column is 70% stuff he likes and I find his reviews largely favorable to at least charitable. His Keef review this week is a great example of that
