that looks kinda far from the city i guess there are some sorta trains going there?
It's more easily reachable from Chengdu, I thought you might be going there for the nightlife
Didn't realise this was a family trip lol

everyone was really friendly
city was cool, lots of things to see and super accessible (buses, trains, didi)
we went to some nature and historical sites outside of the city which were stunning
so cheap, food was so so cheap. loved the street food
even prices in stores, i had to buy a new portable charger from miniso and it was almost half the price of a portable with the same specs in sydney. accomodation was cheap
like i had more of an urge to return to china than i did japan or sk
bet my mom got me an e sim and i been on wechat since 2018
make sure you have alipay as well and hook up your cards before you leave.
it’s more convenient to have access to both

i didn’t need a visa for my country, but i did whatever forms i needed at customs (i don’t remember if i needed to tbh). i didn’t do anything in advance
i recommend having more than one translation app as well cause they will give you different translations. i went between apple’s translation app, papago, and alipay’s translation. if possible save the english to chinese packs offline to save data
if you’ve got an apple device their map app was pretty good, amap was better tho. deff set up amap in your home country before leaving. i don’t know if amap allows you save maps offline but if you can do it so you don’t use your esim data unnecessarily (i recommend this for everywhere, not just china)
