1. American Reconstruction: Lincoln never dies but he abandons his ideas about Yeomen and killing the natives, the Republicans don't get caught up in ideology and don't leave the freed blacks out to be crushed in the south, The Constitution is completely redone, the Planter class gets dispossessed, the radical Republicans break off and build a diverse base to challenge Eastern Finance and fhe Northern Industrialists.

2. 1910/20s: The Second internationale isn't full of social chauvinists, the German revolution is actually successful, the US doesn't purge the socialists, the Bolsheviks lose their paranoid clandestine culture by the end of the Civil War.

3. Napoleon wins against the British and never invades Haiti, Toussaint is able to build a stable country under French protection from foreign interference.

4. The US forgets Latin America exists in the 20th century.

5. Africa develops a great climate, trade is very easy, none of the medieval states start up a slave economy.

6. Not gonna end well but would make an entertaining movie: Stalin says f\*\*\* it and let's all the post-war Communists revolt

The deng reforms would have still happened they would've just shrunk in scale. If the liberalization is slower then the Chinese student movement pops out a bit later, presumably after the USSR disbands.

If there is no USSR, the Deng reforms have the same effect as the late Soviet reforms, and the Chinese state is weaker, I think there's a real possibility that the CIA/NED/USAID would go full throttle on empowering the student counter revolutionary movement.
