10000% agree, I can't believe every place I go everyone is expecting a tip.
Some of those places it’s just built into the software, they know no one actually is going to utilize it bc it’s not a tipping scenario
You really gonna let a credit card terminal or receipt blank space press you bro

Times are tough, and I try to save up as much as I can.
So these kind of things really add up.
Plus I live in Mexico
So yeah
Theres places I go too and they automatically charge you 3% of your total for using a credit or debit card.
Like excuse me, what?
that’s cause of the banks charging businesses for card services

When i say press I mean pressure you into tipping
Just ignore it
nope tho they trying to normalise it tho
i personally refuse to
tipping is usually a thing in more upmarket venues and even then it’s not expected
but it’s not uncommon for nicer places to have a built in service charge that you can opt to remove anyway
You are not obligated to tip. You are definitely an a****** if you don’t tip in the US
thats how servers make their money whether you like it or not so u better tip
Every culture in the world has their unwritten rules. In the US, tipping is a big one, either follow it or don't :jordanfuckyou:
when I worked hardware as a teenager I had some American contractors that felt obliged to tip and I was like okay bet
You're definitely in the right w/ asking your money back from that mom. Parents usually raise you to never accept money or ask for money from strangers (unless you're homeless ofc) so she was probably on some other s***
When the cashier turns that tablet around, staring you down trying to pressure you to tip and then you smash that “no tip” anyways >>>>>
Really don’t find it necessary to tip someone who’s just taking my order behind a counter
that tip money is not gonna be a burden to u most likely its jus common courtesy, most delivery people work minimum wage
I don’t like systems set up through social shaming. I think it’s a very very strange custom.
This is the cost of the bill. This is the implied cost of being a good person. If there wasn’t the shame of being a bad person, a lot of people would not tip. Which makes the whole thing feel entirely performative, and dishonest to me.
Before you call me a douchebag, I tip. But I loathe the system. I already worry too much about wanting to be liked. Tipping is a metaphor for validation and wanting to be liked.
