It requires thinking to build empathy and if you're a 14yo boy and your YouTube feed is full of "Sigma Male destroys gay beta" videos with strong characters from movies it's just super easy to follow that path irl
I might be looking too much into this because some of those videos are the opposite of harmless. I've just seen some of them that were straight up homophobic and were far from funny

bc if it involves acting more like the "gay beta" than the "sigma male" in the video (which we're assuming the 14yo boy takes at face value), then i don't think it would have the intended effect
