This sounds like an issue that needs to be brought up to your mom

Man my parents are amazing people and way better than I could ever be lmao. They have so much love and empathy. I told my mom I have 0 respect for this man and she told me we don’t know how his brain was affected from covid (even though this issue was present long before), and that we need to be supportive/loving no matter what

Nah man being loving means that you specifically shouldn’t be tolerable of someone being so depraved that they’re drunk driving at 2am. If they really loved and supported this man they’d sit his ass down and get him some f***ing help

If your friends a junky and you care for him then you’re gonna help him improve as a person, not just pat his ass on the back and let each day leech more energy from him

    on God…
My family has sat him down and tried getting him help. He refuses saying he doesn’t believe in all that. Now all they really do is make sure he’s safe Sounds psychotic, but I told my parents tonight to let him learn on his own and that I’d rather he gets hurt or arrested because that might be the only way he’d learn

Nah I gave up on that when I punched him when I was 8 😭😭 He offered me jack and coke this past Christmas while he was drunk and I told him I didn’t drink soda because I don’t want diabetes😭😭 (he has diabetes)

Your family is enabling his behavior

You said your mom is empathetic. She needs to understand that enabling his behavior is hurting him in the long run. It’s also hurting her and you. If she really wants to help him she’ll be firm with him until he either changes or gtfo out of your life

She’s not helping anyone by letting him think this behavior is acceptable

Op you’re not in the wrong for your position but when it comes to family a lot of people could never give up on their loved ones regardless how s***ty their decisions may be

eh, messed up situation, but I honestly don’t care about whatever happens to this man. Just angers and saddens me whenever I catch up with my parents and know my aunt is dealing with it alongside my little cousins.

Sounds totally fair he seems like a huge dumb ass who doesn't give a s*** about anyone or anything

  • Jan 27, 2022

Sometimes it's just f*** family, some people will never get better

  • Your family is enabling his behavior lowkey, but at the same time, you have to want the help first in order to actually get better
