Fr man sometimes people will do the most f***ed up s*** and will show litteraly no signs of wanting to be better for whole ass decades yet family members will still support them I'm so tired of that mentality

My uncle had an accident and lost part of a limb, got a massive payout but drank it all away, he's homeless now. He used to harass my aunt and my dad while hitting rock bottom, but they still take care of him from time to time via cash or setting him up with a place to live.

Everyone else really dislikes him but what can you do when it's your own brother? He hangs out locally but doesn't know what I look like anymore thankfully..

Though in OPs situation that mans not even blood but he seems to be successful and if the wife (OPs blood relative) is happy or tolerates it then you can only say so much

He doesn’t physically abuse your aunt. He’s rich so when he dies your aunt will be taken care off. Sounds like your uncle is battling some real demons. That’s an alcoholist. He’s likely trying to get away from something. Maybe the fact that you punched him in the face traumatized him op
