I just finished this mix few weeks back I’m been listening to the more hard hitting amapiano so a mix of a log drum that has a hard snare and a heavy bass build up . Amapiano is an interesting genre if you only listen to it in party settings you wouldn’t fully grasp the reach of these producers . Similar to hip hop African music is experiencing a youth culture resurgence afrobeats also is evolving crazy but with a lot of mainstream sounds they are always late to catchup . I started this radio to select deep cuts as well popular amapiano tunes and put people on . This mix is heavy on the star boys of “black is brown label “ which is owned by Mr Jazziq (P.s one of the best selectas , producers and a&r currently in amapiano ) . Mr jazziq is always innovating, it's scaring how much influence the brother has in the genre . Similar I have some piano Hub acts in the mix , piano hub is ran by Kabza de small. The motto of producers in amapiano as Kabza de small said is to each one teach one , so everyone is constantly collaborating and evolving the sound . If you listen to the genre often you will notice the drums have evolved compared to how they sounded in 2019 its due to that collaborative spirit .The labels are always listening for new talent and training them . The log drum is the soul of an amapiano producer if you listen close enough the best have their own unique drum sound.
