  • first off this s*** is f***ing sad but also hilarious this came out a little bit ago but Krystal expands on the original story. you may have seen this floating around:

    zdnet.com/article/amazon-is-hiring-intelligence-analysts-to-watch-organized-labor-hostile-political-leaders-more

basically Amazon started an entire Intelligence Department dedicated to tracking individuals and groups advocating against amazon and advocating pro-unions. The Intelligence Agency also deals with "confidential information" aimed at preventing unionization and workers rights by any means. Apparently besides tracking literal individuals and groups this also means actively harassing them also in this video she describes new policies and setups for warehouse workers and this is beyond dystopia. they have a literal mass surveillance system for their lowest tier workers which can auto-fire you based on your movements alone if you aren't doing enough work

but that's not all good ol Jeff Bezos is up to! prior articles have shown that Amazon is full in on ideas of "diversity and inclusion" and related/tangential subjects because stroking racial divides and creating a more diverse staff significantly weakens unionization.

    archive.fo/1khJw

Store-risk metrics include average store compensation, average total store sales, and a "diversity index" that represents the racial and ethnic diversity of every store. Stores at higher risk of unionizing have lower diversity.

furthermore they monitor a number of other factors which are actually illegal to monitor in terms of location and staffing

The stores' individual risk scores are calculated from more than two dozen metrics, including employee "loyalty," turnover, and racial diversity; "tipline" calls to human resources; proximity to a union office; and violations recorded by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Things like proximity to a union office and access to human resources are considered a massive risk

having worked at Walmart when I was younger, they similarly hate unions so I’m not surprised that Amazon does as well, but the extent of Amazons measures are hilarious lol

Amazon Web Service hosts like half the internet lol.

Also, yeah, capitalists tend not to have morals. Otherwise they wouldn't be capitalists.

Amazon is basically guaranteed never to fail because AWS has military and (actual) intelligence contracts meaning the US Government has a vested interest in making sure Amazon never goes under. Plus this isn't even mentioning how the CIA and NSA have massive contracts with Amazon (and other Bezos businesses). I don't mean this as a libertarian argument, but it is true there is virtually no business which has hopped the line from multi-million to multi-billion (multi-billion in the sense of the massive of scope of Amazon, etc.) without the government. Apple recieves billions in US subsidies, then sets up tax havens in Ireland to not pay anything back. One of Tesla (and Musk's other businesses) main source of revenue is government grants & subsidies. Microsoft works with the Pentagon. Even Hollywood entertainment studios receive government subsidies. It's crazy how it's not just passive, and howa the government has essentially actively enabled these companies to be this ig and abusive.

(poor) Niggas will fight to the death to defend Bezos. We’re all obviously very jealous of the fact that this bum can exploit his workers and get away with it

Amazon is basically the mediator between the world's consumers and producers. If there was a general strike amongst Amazon workers world wide it would shut down a major part of trade and the world economy.

    Hope it happens soon.

Amazon gonna absorb Raytheon soon and become the world police

I've known a few people who've worked for Amazon (as workers and management) and they've confirmed some of this s*** and the insane metrics Amazon collects.

Friendly reminder that Bezos originally wanted to name Amazon, Relentless but was told that wasn't customer friendly. www.relentless.com still takes you to Amazon
