He’s adapting the show in a different way than he made the comic. There’s been multiple changes

Haven’t read it myself but for example the big ending to episode 1 that hooked us all didn’t occur in the comic till like issue 6 which is quite a difference in pace. There’s character changes too

I think if you wanna read it you should be good cus you’re not always gonna know when each thing happens. Some of the huge surprises tho might not be as big anymore if you read it

imo yes, the wait for S2 is going to be killer and you're not going to want to stop after the finale. Also the show tweaks a couple of the characters and plotlines so it's rewarding all on it's own.
