It's a short trailer so hard to really make any judgements but what was shown is pretty whatever. The good news is barely anything was really shown so here's to hoping it doesn't end up like that s***ty netflix series version of Troy
Y’all really calling a 500 million dollar production generic after watching a 2 min trailer huh?
Yeah, I’m definitely on the internet
People are just saying the trailer looks generic which it does. Final product is still up in the air
Doesnt look cheap though I'll give it that
They have definitely tried to keep the feeling of the movies. Love that. CGI is definitely not done yet, we got 6 more months to go.
its definitely more hobbit look wise than lotr
but thats still better than most other things and not "generic" as some are saying imo

why are they promoting it so early?
ppl were in shambles after the poster gate

they real mad
Looked amazing idk what people expected. They didn’t spend $500 mil to not use a ton of cgi lmao.
It’s looks horrible
Don’t you have a restaurant to go sit in with your family
feels like they'll never be able to match the gritty aesthetic of the og trilogy
idk man this cgi just ain't it man
they real mad
"you don't need to add black people into this"
goes on to make a point against "racists"
crine what a bum
I never watched these movies. I own all the books currently. Should I read the books rn or watch the movies

watch the movies. then if you dig them, read the books. the movies are probably the best fantasy movies ever.
and personally I always would rather watch a movie first because when you watch a movie then read the book, you get all that extra goodness from the book. but when you read a book first, you're let down by all the parts the movie had to cut out.

This is a really good perspective. Tysm

He’s baiting for attention
Sad thing is Black folks won’t support this enough to warrant the outrage
I personally think the trailer looks pretty great. but as we learned from the last couple GOT seasons, great production and visuals only does so much. this will be a hit or a flop on the strength of the scripts. just looking like middle earth doesn't cut it without character development, plot, good episodic & serial writing, etc.

book is an amazing catholic novel
the films are more action movie oriented
