They have an “Uruk” create Mordor but Sauron was already in control of Mordor before the end of the First Age apparently. And they compressed the whole timeline of the Second Age. Isildur was born over 2000 years after the rings were forged, which apparently hasn’t even in the show yet. Also, warrior Galadriel.

none of those are even close to being as big as killing off freaking celeborn
timecompression was expected
sauron settled in mordor after the first age, mount doom however was created in the first age by morgoth, but theres a difference. they just created their own version of the creation of mordor, they didnt change it or anything
HBO producing a book accurate retelling of the trilogy>>>>> this, HBO hires far better talent when it comes to writers and show runners
Yep. I wish HBO adapted every huge book with series.
They can do it. I believe they’ll do a HP series at some point. 10 episodes per season with 7 seasons and a billion will watch it.

Was Galadriel not a warrior in the books? I figured all ancient elves were fighting wars at some point

Definitely

More like semi-presumptuously making definitive calls on things that were a little ambiguous

Tbh I don't recognize this galadriel at all from the books
I definitely assume the Rings were forged and out there doing their damage they have to be

You definitely hear all about the epic Elven lords throwing down with Morgoth and the balrogs and s*** but I never heard anything about galadriel
Followers of Morgoth hate flora
Just thought it was too fast and rushed. PJ would've basked in that s*** for like 2 minutes spiraling down the depths of the mountain then the balrog wakes up ending the episode with a bang

Google says shes 8000 years old, the girl had to have picked up a sword at some point

As much as Tolkien wrote Aragorn, Gandalf, Elrond etc to be the most epic dudes ever he made it pretty clear that Galadriel was really the biggest boss the allies had in Middle Earth... but definitely more for her wisdom, diplomacy... Achieved with her transcendent grace... Pretty much the opposite of this Galadriel. Still I'm not complaining about seeing a badass version of her. 8,000 years does allow for a lot of character development.

I assumed it was going to be the tremors that woke up the balrog not a literal leaf falling

I don’t think so but I haven’t read every Tolkien book.
