On first scan this has kinda a more melancholy feel? Also Knxwledge‘s production sounds way more refined on here (not that his production was ever bad or anything) to the point that this actually feels like an Anderson .Paak album rather than a NxWorries album if that makes sense?

It’s very lush, and songs are more developed. Yes Lawd was more rugged, with some songs being so underdeveloped they feel more like ideas or sketches.
I think the first one works as a complete work very very well and that’s why I like it so much. This one feels more like a traditional album and im picking out some favorites instead of wanting to spin it back. But I also heard it in s*** quality so who knows
This album has that 80s revival feel but Anderson does it well I love the rapping on here more than the singing

Yeah the rip quality is why I didn’t really listen to it in depth and skipped some tracks, I’m gonna come back to it once it drops on streaming

its basically a breakup album
Sunk a few listens in and while I enjoy it, Yes Lawd is far superior to me.
It's also not enjoyable hearing Paak sound all entitled and s***ty. It's like an attempted introspection that you never really feel like rooting for.

Yeah I gotta agree, I can get behind Here, My Dear by Marvin due to how raw and soulful it is but Paak sounds bitter af on the majority of the tracks here.

I never walk away feeling like Marvin Gaye is unlikeable on Here, My Dear - and I've listened to that album a lot, it's my favourite of his. While on this I felt Paak came off unlikeable ultimately.
