call of the night s2 - 9/10

loved loved loved the direction of this season. the toned down monogatari style really fits this series so well. i hope itamura stays on as director for later seasons cause there's some really great moments that i'd love to see him tackle

dress up darling s2 - 8.5

i'm sorta let down by marin and gojo's relationship getting put in the backseat with cosplay being the main focus of the season. their relationship is the highlight of the show and there were some great moments but it just didn't feel like enough. either way it was still really good, just wanted a bit more

the summer hikaru died - 8/10

something about this show just felt like an older production. the framing of shots, the sound design and the general ambiance makes it feel older than it is to me. pretty enjoyable mystery thriller

city the animation - 7.5

every episode is visually stunning and fun but the skits that are chosen are very hit or miss. some stuff is just a complete dud and when that happens the episode pacing really slows down. worth watching for the visuals alone imo

witch watch 7/10

this would have been much better if it was split into two seasons. it started out being very funny and unique but then it hit a stretch of like 7 or so episodes that were all just very boring and bad. the few fight scenes are also genuinely awful. it's picked back up in recent weeks though

grand blue s2 - 7/10

i enjoyed this season way more than s1. the humor wasn't nearly as repetitive and there was a lot more character moments. hopefully s3 keeps that up

there's no freaking way i'll be your lover - 5.5/10

fun trash. i'm weirdly invested even though basically everything about this show kinda sucks
