They wrap up various parts of the girl's story recapping the cultural festival from the girl's different POVs. The Yotsuba part is only at the end, and I think at the very least some of it is worth seeing.

I think I'll just watch the last ep and call it quits and maybe just read the last chapters

I'm trying to minimize the overacting part if it exists in some other anime shows/movies that has been hard to find for the uninitiated like me

I'm sorry if I can't explain it right
I just watched Perfect Blue, it's my kind of stuff, not a lot of screaming involved and they don't act childish
Rn I will watch Grave of the fireflies and slowly go over other recommendations that you guys suggested, firstly movies tho just to see if I vibe with them
