It's a great movie but the manga by itself stands strong and my fav thing about the movie was the characters and they're well developed in the manga

Not well versed about Akira but I heard the manga is pretty boring until the final arc which is the movie

So I can't say it's the same thing

That was my main problem with it. It seemed like there were two different visions and the show couldn't commit to either of them. If they just went all in on either being a fun, buddy cop slice of life or a conflict between an authoritarian organization vs anarchist Majima, the show would have felt a lot more cohesive.

I hope I'll like the ending, seems like it'll continue this route of the main story and that it was planned but the whole exposition about Alan institute was a turn off

I thought the first two episodes were good but the third fell flat for me. It kinda feels like it wants to be both a character driven drama and an over the top sports shonen when it should really just be one or the other. The premise is cool and it could work with either too. It's not bad but it's also not really grabbing me the way I hoped it would. I'll probably give it at least two more episodes unless the fourth episode also doesn't hit for me.
