A Silent Voice is probably one of the rare "emotional" anime that genuinely deserves that tag. It isn't exploitative like so many other anime pushing the over the top sentimentality and it genuinely earns its moments.
fr. growing up i thought angel beats was sad. still funny but not sad at all them niggas was just dramatic and annoying af
its one of the most loved anime out there I feel. It's honestly rare I see anyone hate on it. It's not quite at the beloved status of FMA B or Cowboy Bebop but its def at the level of Code Geass in respect.
I also do not like FMA B. "I'm not short" the anime
Was half joking, Death Note is aight from what I remember, I watched it over a decade ago for the last time so idek what happens for the most part, might rewatch.
And I think everyone has atleast one universally beloved anime they just don't f*** with lmao.
Can't stand monogatari personally (I love Katanagatari tho)
Their episodes on Dandadan (episode 82) and Gintama both got me into those series, so maybe one of those. They did episodes on Golden Kamuy, 20th Century Boys and Dai Dark that also peaked my interest in those but I haven't started them yet. They have a decent backlog and cover a lot of different things, shonen, rom com, seinen, mystery, etc so they've probably covered something that you've heard of but haven't started.
Read everything you listed already so I'll just browse their vids to see if there is a serie I haven't peeped yet like you said
I wish the Hawks and Twice fight had a little more action I had only seen the vol 27 cover and thought it was gonna be a crazy fight, but the way it went down makes sense too ig š¤
reading this made me wanna rewatch silent voice, been 4 years. gives me chills thinking about it
Go ahead watch it or read the manga (if you havenāt read it, itās better imo)
Thought this was common consensus among people that watched more than 3 anime tbh
Nope I still love it
Top 5 in what sense? Was it really that popular of a show?
You'll have to watch and find out

Nah the anime is worlds better. The manga ending is horrendous and the anime is just so much more engaging with its incredible OST, Yamadas fantastic direction, and the voice acting (particularly for the female lead).
What the hell did Suletta's mom teach her besides how to pilot a gundam
That girl knows nothing about a single problem mentioned in this universe
I'm surprisingly invested in more than a married couple
Lowkey my fav show of the season after CSM and SxF

Wait isn't it the same ending?
And the manga goes deeper into their family relationships and differences which I liked and it made me cry too which is rare for manga

I believe thereās a time skip in the manga that shows the main two ending up together which is just cringe and I like that the anime goes through such a patient and hard earned journey of self realization for the MC
I think a manga can go deeper into side characters but for a film, itās gotta be more to the point and I think it achieved what it set out to do far better than a written story did
Itās kinda like when you see people seriously say the Akira manga is better than the film
Like one is arguably the most visionary, iconic, and influential works ever made in the animated visual medium and the other is just a typical sci fi story. People who seriously think the manga is better probably think anything is better if thereās simply more āinformationā or ādevelopmentā and have zero understanding of the visual medium

I don't think it's the same case at all
First negative thought about LycoReco, I'm not a big fan of the overarching story itself... strictly in it for Takina & Chisato and their relationship, and maybe Makima he seems cool

As long as you like the characters
I don't think it's the same case at all
Maybe not to the same degree since A Silent Voice is genuinely a really beautiful story but I think the film is just far better executed because of Yamada's distinct direction, the fantastic voice acting (to the point where they even got a deaf actress to voice Nishimiya, and just such an incredible score that honestly compliments certain sequences in such a way that the combination of everything makes them all time anime sequences such as the balcony scene or when Shouko begs for forgiveness in the after math)
There's def lotta anime though where it feels like they're just going through the motions of the manga and it just feels lazy (HoriMiya is a big example for this)
