Finished Katanagatari and I have some mixed feelings on it. I really liked the art style and I loved the relationship between Togame and Shichika. They were super cute together and I enjoyed seeing them grow closer. I do wish there was a bit more of a focus on the romantic side of the relationship though. Shichika would often talk about how he fell for Togame but his actions outside of fighting for her never really showed that. I get that part of his character was being unaware of social norms cause of his secluded upbringing and that led to a lot of gags and him missing Togame's hints but I think just a little bit more of a focus on the romance side of things would've helped solidify their relationship.

Like when Togame dies I felt more sad that my favorite character was dying and not all that sad about Shichika having to deal with the death of the girl he loves because I never really saw him emotionally connect with her. It wasn't a huge problem or anything, just something I would have preferred been done differently.

My biggest problem with the show was the pacing. Maybe it's cause the episodes were 50 minutes long but I just felt like some episodes went on forever. This is only the 2nd NISIOISIN thing I've watched (the other being Bakemonogatari) and I enjoy his writing style but Katanagatari just felt very slow to me at quite a lot of points. I went back and watched a few scenes of Bakemonogatari just to compare cause it's been a few months since I watched it and Bake felt so much snappier and quick witted. There were moments like that in Katanagatari but not nearly as much. Maybe it was the way the studio adapted the LN or he switched up his style a bit for the LN and that's why it feels different idk.

Is Chainsaw Man and the psycho show worth a watch? Complete newbie here and I'm looking for more shows to peep. I enjoyed SPY X FAMILY
