Considering watching monster on Netflix. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?
I really enjoyed it; the writing was fantastic. Really well realized characters, poignant themes, and a very uniquely somber atmosphere. But be warned, it is a slow burn.
Finally finished Hajime no Ippo. It was a great watch, but it's bittersweet knowing we probably won't get the rest of the story animated (at least any time soon). Season 1 was my favorite - for me personally, I prefer that particular style of animation, and overall, it had more memorable moments. The soundtrack was especially good, too. This track had me in shambles every time it played.
Re-watching DBZ, forgot how cold and dope Radditz was before the whole power-scaling downward spiral

recommend, one of the best written villains in any medium

Sounds good. I’ll be sure to finish it. I’m a big fan on slow burns anyway

Some good arcs some bad arcs.
Gets really great towards the end, and for a lot of people solely works from a nostalgia standpoint

dbz abridged unironically the best way to watch
Is there something wrong with me. Fullmetal Alchemist is usually at the top of most "best animes ever" lists.
I had some spare time last Tuesday and decided to binge 9 episodes while I was getting my hair braided.
I for the life of me can not get into this at all. I honestly think it's very disappointing, from the Writing, music, animation. There hasn't even been a single fight scene that is even worth talking about, none where I think it lasted more than 5 minutes.
The show can't get me to give a actual f about the characters either. Even the little girl and her dog, I was just watching that episode as distant as anyone can be.
The dialogue is awful. The writers don't build any suspense or anticipation whatsoever. There has been a couple of big moments early on and the writers just gloss over everything very matter of factly - (Like when the brothers realized there needs to be a human sacrifice for transfusion after reading the scientists studies).
That's a pretty big thing I would think, and it literally just came and went.
I have to say after coming from the Attack on Titan that I find is the polar opposite to what I'm seeing here, I'm very disappointed.
I know it has like what (60?) episodes. Is this worth continuing?

I’ll say

If you don't like it just drop it. It's like the most easy to get into "classic" anime/manga you can consume. If 9 episodes doesn't do anything, I don't think any ending or plot point moving forward will.

what do you think of it
Choosing AOT as your example of good writing is crazy
