Is there something wrong with me. Fullmetal Alchemist is usually at the top of most "best animes ever" lists.
I had some spare time last Tuesday and decided to binge 9 episodes while I was getting my hair braided.
I for the life of me can not get into this at all. I honestly think it's very disappointing, from the Writing, music, animation. There hasn't even been a single fight scene that is even worth talking about, none where I think it lasted more than 5 minutes.
The show can't get me to give a actual f about the characters either. Even the little girl and her dog, I was just watching that episode as distant as anyone can be.
The dialogue is awful. The writers don't build any suspense or anticipation whatsoever. There has been a couple of big moments early on and the writers just gloss over everything very matter of factly - (Like when the brothers realized there needs to be a human sacrifice for transfusion after reading the scientists studies).
That's a pretty big thing I would think, and it literally just came and went.
I have to say after coming from the Attack on Titan that I find is the polar opposite to what I'm seeing here, I'm very disappointed.
I know it has like what (60?) episodes. Is this worth continuing?
"is there something wrong with me"
Yes
Choosing AOT as your example of good writing is crazy
It has good writing for the majority of the manga
Nerds will only disagree.
what do you think of it
I loved it. I can't really talk about what I love without spoiling. However, the world building, the character interactions/development, and the fight scenes are what I like most from this show

Yeah no
Choosing AOT as your example of good writing is crazy
It’s peak shounen writing

They on their edgelord phase let them vent
Aot is better than fma tho
There's going to be a reason why more people are going to know AoT more than FMA moving forward
FMA is just corny midget jokes
That s*** is not better than AOT in any way lmao

not really no
Yall niggas need to go read a book
Maybe I’d enjoy AoT more if Eren’s fall was told in the present through flashbacks, cause seeing that unfold in a linear way real time made me irrevocably dislike the show and realize how far it fell into Death Note tier edginess (at least with Death Note the protagonist is insane from the start)
I couldn’t stand it
Both them series written for 15 year olds
And we can discuss which series is better.
Same way that I can say Diary of a Wimpy Kid is better than Captain Underpants.
They on their edgelord phase let them vent
ironic considering timeskip eren is quite literally an edgelord

Yes, and thats what makes that one part of the final chapter so good
