Gojo just seem OP for the sake of being OP.
I hate characters like that. Least fave jjk character
I'm in chapter 18 of ichinose family deadly sins and I have no f***ing clue what's going in
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
8/10
Finally got around to finishing it. Mostly a great time. Animation goes crazy throughout the anime, shines in the action scenes. I liked the art style for the characters and the world. A lot of moments felt game-like which I appreciated (didn't play the actual game but if some of them are there it looks fun as s***).
The plot is good, engaging, fast paced. I liked that they chose to show not tell. Could've easily been full of exposition about the world. The characters, a little surface level and could've been explored more. I enjoyed David hallucinating in the last few episodes, it ties their arc together, but the character feels pointless.
Overall I liked it and would recommend it.
Sasuke is the shadow the hedgehog of naruto charactersā¦ pure loser
Aizen from bleachā¦ loser
Vegetaā¦ worship but basically an loser if maybe only in the Andrew Tate sense of the word
Gojoā¦ overpowered, overrated Gary Stu
Guts - on some level designed to be flawless therefore sucks
Spike Spiegel - See above
Shinji - layered and interesting character who gets a lot of hate because he doesnāt meet anime fanās delusional expectations that if they were in his situation theyād rise up to the plate and be alpha males like guts and basically f*** all the girls at NERV headquartersā¦ dudes live in an isekai fantasy in their own heads so you know they canāt stand Shinji revealing to them how most of them would probably react in this situationā¦ hell maybe worseā¦
Makima - evil but interesting and good character. Lots of fun moments. Pretty much one of the most interesting characters from the series and one of the reasons chainsaw man is as good as it is. In all fairness sheās sort of a goddess and we need to submit to her will
Kakashi - coolest mf in naruto objectively
Tetsuo from Akira - obviously very flawed but still a compelling character. He basically feels like a metaphor for the corrupting influence of powerā¦ almost Shakespearean
Kaneda - cool guy. Fun character and not played into as perfect.
Sasuke is objectively a bad character cause heās an edgelord. His motivations are 2 dimensional, make no sense and only serve to boost his edge factor. He goes from one murderous plot to the next with barely any lag time in his processing abilitiesā¦ like he literally canāt deduce after the first failed revenge fantasy that maybe itās useful to get more information first or think a little bit more about this before I jump into another long winded pity partyā¦
Naruto is objectively a bad character. He has no depth and only operates on MC plot hax and never give up principles. Heās like the John Cena of anime š š
Main characters in shonen anime are objectively a problem because theyāre given too much importance. I feel this is an issue with a lot of modern fantasy works introduction of the āmainā vs āsecondary charactersā story model.
Itās not ideal because in an ideal story, one character shouldnāt be glamorized or given special status over the others. It basically necessitates that Mary/Gary Stuās will always exist on some level as well as author self inserts because how else are they supposed to do this main character thing? It kind of allows them to attribute a f*** ton of unnecessarily special traits to some character who probably reminds them of them while the other characters function as support to drive the main characters story forward. It feels like an inherently narcissistic form of storytelling and I canāt help if itās not just because people donāt love inserting themselves into the position of the main character? Like itās almost as if how the story actually goes doesnāt matter as long as they feel the thrill of whatever main character syndrome does to a mf
Itās funny because itās almost as if some secondary or support character is always objectively better or more interesting than the main characters themselves. Main characters are supposed to be like McDonalds, theyāre designed to appeal to the widest possible demographic. If your main character isnāt likeable the whole thing falls flat so theyāre designed to have as few distinctive and interesting personality traits as possible to basically appeal to the widest possible audience.
So main characters are often, obnoxious, over positive, given traits that make them āspecialā because theyāre āstrong headedā or ādonāt take s*** from anyoneā or ānever give upāā¦ like itās basically impossible to make a main character whoās actually complex flawed and compellingā¦ it kills the widespread appeal potential and massively undermines commercial viability. These MCs need to sell merchā¦ at worst they may even have a catchphrase and some weird personal quirk like being into ramen too muchā¦
Overall the main character concept is just a b****. It doesnāt work and creates bland forced and predictable storylines. Literature is dead on some level because in complex works of literature, the main character could be the most flawed out of them all. See any work by Dostoyevsky, Shakespeare, Greek tragedy etc. To not be too Eurocentric, even more classic African literary works can emphasize incredibly flawed main characters just to offer a bit of social critique. Theyāre not meant to be ālikedā as characters objectively. The fact that people are convinced you need to ālikeā characters is part of the whole problem with storytelling nowadays. So characters are supposed to pander to the basic sentiments of the immature and mostly media illiterate viewer. At least Euphoria of all shows on some level avoided this lmao. And I guess thatās all the love that show is gonna get from me.
anyone else watched stop!! hibari kun? wish they had animated more of it
Never saw the Anime but i love the art of Hisashi Eguchi. Even got his artbooks

Only thing that's wrong is that you're saying loser for characters who obviously can get coochie. They're misogynists.
S*** Aizen a pretty boy who had a girl simping for him.
A lot of this is facts though

Aaaaah it barely has anything to do with misogyny tbhā¦ I wasnāt even thinking of that. I mean you could be right but I was just thinking how edgy and rage fueled a lot of these characters are and how much their fan base tends to consist of similar types of people (idek if thatās true, Iām just ranting at this point).
But yeah I meanā¦ Sasuke is an loser because heās just obsessed with killing people, same with Vegeta, Aizens just straight up evil lolā¦ I donāt remember who else I included and the site doesnāt let me view my own post white typing so f*** it lol. But yeah you get my point (hopefully).

I get ya lol. I'm just being a nerd on calling Sasuke and Vegeta losers when Sasuke and Vegeta had their own kids.
Plus Vegeta is a better person now at end of his arc in DBZ.
Aizen probably is closest to being an loser

My only problem with Sasuke isn't even that. I think it's a logical jump to be like "the old shinobi way of doing things needs to be destroyed, it led to the destruction of my family and countless others and inspired all this hate. We need to wipe it clean." I think I can reason with that from his POV.
The issue is that we literally already had that arc... with Pain. Why are we doin the same arc again lol?

i legit don't remember him saying that cause it's been years... narrative theme maybe?
