Everything just seems so dramatic lol particularly disliked how lame Nana's life revolves around relationships, she has no hobbies, no dreams, no nothing, her entire existence revolves around having a boyfriend
I'll still finish it just for cool Nana tho
Imagine how many women relate to her
what you trynna say?
A lot of women are raised that way to live that life. It's why so many love this series and the real reality it paints.

wow that's so sad...
but i can kinda relate, used to make relationships the focus of my life too, until music saved me
Anyone watch Fate Stay series? Does it have a decent story aside from the cool battles
its a fun watch
the story is nothing crazy but the characters are good enough to be still entertained imo + the fights are great
Well written character drama with characters who act in believable ways will always be relatable. Ai Yazawa understands human relationships and the futility that comes with it as well as the desperation in spite of knowing a certain relationship is "wrong" for you. There are moments in life where you can't pull yourself away from "wrong" people. Those experiences impact your current relationships and future relationships with others. Making mistakes again and again even while knowing it's a mistake because you swear to yourself that this time will be different. Nana is the most human series I've ever experienced. You're gonna get hurt and hurt others. One lead character continuously stumbles into relationships due to her crippling codependency while the other tries to pick up whatever pieces are left of her own relationship with the love of her life... THIS THE REAL DEAL. SUFFER AND GROW.
I binged the rest of the episodes last night and now I'm reading the manga. My immediate thought like 15 episodes in was like you said - this is the realest depiction of relationships I've ever seen in anime and they do not sugarcoat it with some happy ending. I legitimately was surprised they followed through with certain situations because any other show would've 'fixed' the situation up
So glad Pluto is finally releasing, his best work imo.
Haven't been so excited for an anime in a min

That's awesome man. I just completed my collection of the manga the other day. Hopefully one day Ai Yazawa feels healthy enough to finish the story! I've yet to see anything as "real" as her depiction of human relationships in Nana in any other series. You can tell that she herself has definitely been through some s*** and is very conscious of her own experiences. This isn't stuff you can write well unless you know how it feels.
Yuasa is so recognizable. Can tell within like the first 15 seconds that the new Spy x Family is by him.

Yeaaaaa man. If you want similar "very real human experience" manga I recommend Blank Canvas (which is actually an autobiography), Honey & Clover (realest unrequited love arc I've seen in any medium), and Tokyo Tarareba Girls
Ai Yazawa will come back someday!

last anime he didn't get a lot of recognition prolly cause it had so little sakuga (which is kind of what he's known for) now that he's at Bones I feel like he can geek out and deliver maybe, just hoping praying
