I personally like the anime a lot but I don't know if I'd call it good.

From what I've read online the show and the manga go pretty different ways. There is definitely more people saying to go with the manga though. Good romance in both apparently

Random thought but kind of crazy there is no Kill la Kill compilation movie a la Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann comp is special, cause it was an abridged version of events with new scenes of animation

Probably would've been hard for Trigger, a new studio at the time to make a comp film with new animation

Dungeon Meshi easily the best manga to come out last decade.
And this her first manga, she just getting started, I'm bricked up at the thought of her future works

Yeah true. But considering it's the classic Trigger show I'm surprised they don't make a theatrical version for one of the anniversaries. It's having it's 10 year anniversary this year but they didn't do much.

Meanwhile Gurren Lagann movies got a 4k theatrical rerun for the 15 years this year.

Really neat video, Yonemaya is an animator I wish I had covered. Her varied history as an AD, and artist is something special, and makes really inventive exhibits displaying her work

I think it's at like the mid point of the manga right now, so like three more seasons at it's current pace probably are left
