the karuta matches in chihayafuru 3 not hitting the same as seasons 1 and 2. they're missing the tension and unpredictability, which is unfortunate cause i'm about half way through the season and it's pretty much all been karuta. there really hasn't been any character moments off the mats

I really recommend Hana wa Saku from here btw. It's pretty much Hibike Eupho all over again (Ayano Takeda writing) but this time with a broadcasting club. Amazing interactions within a big cast of characters and great handling at introducing people to the world of broadcasting activity much like how Hibike was putting folks on the wind band music
