i can't speak on the production since it's been years since i last watched the anime but the LN is amazing and index has the better story and characters imo

The anime in general is a bad adaptation of the series. Like, really f***ing bad.

I heard that the LN is genuinely good but whenever the anime comes up all I hear is how Kadokawa made JC Staff adapt 9 volumes in 26 episodes in S3 and that I should just read the LN instead
Haven't heard that many good things about the earlier seasons either. Also Misaka is just too cool I refuse to have her replaced
