Yama Kan back at it again
no wonder they fired him, man is unhinged
Surprisingly im covering his firing in my Ishidate and Kigami spotlight
Ishidate will be done by tomorrow
In fact Im kind of curious why some KyoAni staff members just leave
Haruki Fujita and Shinpei Sawa both left on their own accord pretty recently

could be money idk
I work in education so I'm not sure about other industries, but the pattern in higher ed seems to be to work for the same place for 5-8 years until you find another place willing to offer you higher pay then jump ship
but pay is s*** in animation so ? idk
I mean there's a million possible reasons at play here.
The obvious one here is that they've both been at KyoAni for 10+ years and they just decided they wanted a change of scenery.
The other is that they probably wanted more freedom in what they worked on. KyoAni releases what, maybe two anime a year? Add onto the fact that over the last couple years, KyoAni has made a concentrated effort of focusing on making anime adaptations of light novels published under the KyoAni brand (Tsurune, Free!, Violet Evergarden, the upcoming 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku). As a member of KyoAni, your choice of what you can work on is pretty slim. There's obviously a lot of appeal in being a freelancer and jumping from studio to studio based on what IP happens to interest you at the time.
And finally, they probably just finished up whatever works their deceased colleagues left unfinished as a result of the arson, and felt that they could finally move on and put some distance between themselves and the tragedy.
