Yeah, right now it just seems its going the way of your typical shoujo fantasy which is that its some ordinary girl having a guy way out of her league who could get literally any girl in the world somehow magically catering to her every need and being the best "bf" in the world.

I get the feeling like he doesn't actually like her and is just fetishizing her language barrier. He gets to learn a new language, f*** a new girl, and continues on his dream. He doesn't know anything about her and she doesn't know anything about him.

This is me hoping this show is a lot deeper than it is right now

not sure this show has the emotional depth for that but I feel you on thinking there has to be something more to this show. Otherwise, it wouldn't really make sense tbh why the other guy is there. I feel its setting up this dichotomy of how there's one guy who makes sure the main girl sees his "love" for her vs the other guy who shows his "love" in ways she can't understand due to her disability.
