Damn. Precisely that moment. Whole arc was incredible. It was extremely beautiful and sad.
Yeah, I read the whole manga recently (like four months ago, I think) and it was definitely a ride. How far along are you?

Conviction arc. Chap 161. Still wild as hell.

That arc is definitely heavy, but the story starts to feel less grim as it progresses. Also, Farnese is such a great character. I really liked the direction Miura took with her.

Went from grim to frustrating that i seen you know whos face again ( on holy war arc)
The audacity of this nigga is insane.

Man, Griffith is truly a detestable mf. Before reading the manga, I already knew about the Eclipse, which made Griffith's character moments leading up to it feel especially disturbing. Those panels of him staring wide-eyed at Casca and Guts from a distance after they rescue him were chilling af.
Also, the fact that he tried to choke guts after he saves him is crazy. In his mind, it's Guts' fault that he's been tortured. Truly the mindset of a narcissistic psychopath.

too busy promoting WWE RAW Live
Damn is there nothing this season?
Watching that in February
I just finished watching all the Hibike movies. Liz and the Blue Bird was rlly great. The shift in artstyle caught me a bit off guard, but it was stunning and perfectly complemented the delicate, contemplative tone of the side story. I also appreciated how it felt more experimental compared to the rest of the series. The two movies that followed were solid as well, tho some character arcs and plot points felt a little rushed (seriously, how is Kumiko’s entire second year condensed into such a short runtime?). It kinda left me feeling like a lot of potential was left untapped. Still, I’m excited to dive into Season 3.

Lovelab
what a fun show!

Didn't want to mention it until you watched it but yeah I think the two movies after Liz to Aoi Tori are the weakest parts of the series specifically because of what you mentioned. Not to say that it's bad it's hard to say justify the movie format after watching a movie and coming away with the thought "I wish this was a season"
getting modern kare kano vibes
iirc kare kano had more mixed media stuff, which Lovelab doesn't really have
will watch that when I get around to it

not the mixed media stuff but there's a lot of scenes in kare kano that had a similar level of absurdity and it looks like maybe the same type of humor
they dont make em like they used to
mind you that was all in one episode
