Need an anime or manga recommendation where the protagonist is melancholic or depressed like in FLCL.
Not similar at all but watch Welcome to the NHK that one’s pretty real

Just finished the winter festival thing arc rem be on my boy body but she’s like insecure or some s*** I saw their backstory tho.
The curse is def most entertaining like with the witch
Dr Stone is such a solid good vibes show in this world of s***hole seasonals
It's like Naruto and the Magic School Bus
Didn't want to mention it until you watched it but yeah I think the two movies after Liz to Aoi Tori are the weakest parts of the series specifically because of what you mentioned. Not to say that it's bad it's hard to say justify the movie format after watching a movie and coming away with the thought "I wish this was a season"
I just finished the whole thing, and wow
It was so emotional and incredibly satisfying. Kumiko is such a well-written protagonist. I absolutely love her. What a beautiful show, man. I already miss these characters.. Looking back, I do wish they took their time exploring the universe more deeply, but alas. 5/5, peak fiction.

Yeah, Kumiko has become one of my favorites too.
Coincidentally, I’ve been meaning to read Houseki no Kuni for a while now. Would you recommend starting with the anime and then picking up the manga?
Edit: Kurosawa also voices Mitsumi from Skip and Loafer I love that show/manga

Yes, not even a question. Very unique and gorgeous anime, excellent visuals, beautiful OST and I feel like this anime alone made me an appreciator of 3D.
Manga is a work of art too though so if you can I would read it from the beginning. I love the use of symmetry in Ichikawa's art and I think I remember someone linking a video here on how she uses heavy contrasts but I can't remember it.
I think my only criticism of the manga is that it can be difficult to identify some of the gems when you first start reading which is why I would recommend the anime as a starting point. The CGI really brings the characters to life and I can't imagine them portrayed in any other fashion

About to finish this season and ONK is peak anime. Might be top 10
Just started montser, after years of it being on my list. Only 4 episodes deep but I'm hooked
Finally finished Monster a few days ago and still thinking about the ending. Not too many animes i watch where I feel like i want to rewatch immediately after I finish. The use of subtext and how open to interpretation this show is, is the best part about it.
I get some of the critiques about it being too slow, but it didn't really affect my enjoyment all that much. I'm used to bad pacing from being a one piece fan lol

What are your thoughts?
I'm enjoying it so far I like the OST I think they about to show what's up with misaki right because they haven't revealed any of her backstory besides the stalking
Anilist has no log for Castlevania?
Rare Anilist L
Idk why Anilist has a country of origin tag when everything is from Japan on there
