Arguably a great show being ruined is worse than a bad show because of the expectations

It's weird, cause this is one of the first shows I think recently which actually shows the garden of eden (or biblical power). When others shows hype it, they do the left turn and keep the mystery.

But this place is just a boring garden with the ark lol.

Movies often capitalize on an already ongoing show and since Mob ended 4 years ago and manpower being used for MHA S6 it’s looking very unlikely.

I rewatched season 1 a couple weeks ago along with watching season 2 + OVA + live action series for the first time and man….. instantly became one of my favorite shows of all time man

Midway through the first season of Mushishi and it took awhile to grow on me, but this could be my new fav anime.. curious to see if it develops any momentum bc the pace is pretty damn slow

After years and years of seeing LN readers hype up their favourite garbage-ass LNs whenever they got an adaptation, I'm glad that 86 ended up being an actual good anime that deserved the hype.

it never gets as bad as WEP did in its final act but its still pretty f***ing bad and getting worse with each episode. its actually a fairly well produced show, but the writing is just that bad, and it never had the promising start that WEP did either

TOKYO REVENGERS RANT PT 2

SPOILERS!!

So here's part 2 of my rant, mostly talking about non-Takemitchy related stuff about the anime, some of it I liked some of it I didn't.

The Toman gang members and gang lore is mostly good stuff, I like Mikey as kind of a weird personality character I think he would've been a strong protagonist (although not relatable) and Draken is probably my favorite he seems like the homie.

As for the others, I don't really like Baji mainly because I don't think they developed him right. He's supposed to be this martyr character but you didn't know him enough or understand his motivations enough before he died. It was obvious that he was actually helping Toman, but they didn't go deep about why he did what he did or why he had to die? I don't think he had to so it felt unnecessary to me?

Kazutora just a pure dumbass character. Sometimes manga writers don't know what to do to make a character go evil so they just make him "craaaaaaaaazy". That episode where he kills Mikey's brother and then crazily mumbles that he should kill Mikey is jokes. Unlikable badly written character.

Kisaki seems cool because he's the big bad who planned everything. It's gonna be interesting to see more of him. We got a great scene with him in the last episode but not enough of him throughout the anime. (btw Takemitchy punching him is one of dumbest moments, bro you're an adult think for like a second dummy). It is a little boring that no matter what Takemitchy does it still ends up with Kisaki being the Toman leader and killing everybody. Lowkey made me feel like there's no progress throughout the season.

Takemitchy's sympathy for his girlfriend is clear but for Draken he isn't. He's only known him for like a week or two before learning he would be killed. Idk how they connected so much I guess it's Naruto logic where everybody is his friend.

The girlfriend is by far the best character to me and I like romance so I liked the scenes with her. She's quirky and clever not just a generic girl character so I genuinely felt sorry for her and wanted justice. However her not falling out of love with Takemitchy after 20 years is ridiculous. I wonder why anime always act like you meet your soulmate in high school. Also it's weird that he has a crush on her while she's 15. I'm not out here crushing on 15 year olds.

The other gang members who I haven't mentioned just have a cute design, they didn't really do anything for me. Baji's right hand who's like his best friend had a very small role. Idk why they showed their background after and not before Baji's death, would've made me like Baji more. The others are just buffoons mostly.

I just remembered that Draken encouraged Mikey to lie and pretend they abused and raped a girl instead of their enemy gang?? Why?? Most baffling scene in the anime because it's shown as a noble move...

The animation is not good and idc why they tried to do so many fights. They looked so ugly it took away from their importance. Especially the big gang fights when you can't tell what's happening. It's silly that they're like middle schoolers or high schoolers, some of these people look like grown men. Anyway the fight episodes bored me and it was mostly the drama surrounding it that interested me.

The comedy? There are a few funny scenes. The one where Draken and Mikey are breaking all Takemitchy's stuff is funny. Off the top of my head that's the only one but there might be others.

Takemitchy's childhood friends are underdeveloped.

Naoto as the time travel key? I think he's boring because he's a cop with no personality. I don't get why he's the key except for convenience. A better story would've made him a more interesting personality who does more than exposition dump.

The time travel stuff confuses me but obviously it wasn't going to make sense. My only question is what happens when Takemitchy isn't at a certain time, and why does Naoto remember all the other time lines. Someone on MAL told me he basically has the reading steiner like in Steins;Gate. That's funny but they could've wasted it on a less boring character.

It would've been cooler if they established that it's 2005 more. The only thing they did is them not having phones so they couldn't contact each other when Draken got ambushed. Other than that it could've happened at any other year.

Overall I think I wouldn't recommend Tokyo Revengers, unless you just want a popcorn anime, if you do then it's okay to watch.

They animated a whole chapter just to use it as a teaser pv, that's dedicatiom
