I dont remember the exact arc its from but I remember him being a real one

dont they encounter him again after thriller bark or am I mistaken?

I’ve never read a manga before but I’m considering starting w Akira, Ghost in the Shell, or Nausicaa since they aren’t too long and I’ve seen the movies for each. Are there any other shorter mangas that people think would be a good introduction? Im not really interested in anything going past 15 volumes (and even that seems pretty long 🤔)

I’m also curious if there are any really good shorter mangas w female protagonists, or maybe written/drawn by women
