Mr Motion...I don’t really disagree with them
Outside of Princess Mononoke & Spirited Away, the rest I’ve seen are all pretty mid. My Neighbor Totoro, Howls moving castle, Nausicaa, Ponyo, and castle in the sky are the only other ones I’ve seen. I don’t think they’re bad, but I don’t consider them the standard by any means. They’re average movies.
Worst of the bunch for me was Howls Moving Castle. That movie felt so uneventful. Felt like the I was waiting for something to happen and before I knew it, it was over.
I can sorta kinda understand why you found some of them boring, but how is nausicaa uneventful????
So much s*** happens in that movie and it never feels rushed because of it which is an amazing feat. Also, there's so much lore in that movie which raises a lot its rewatch value, with many things explained and other things alluded to. Id suggest you rewatch nausicaa in the near future, if you loved mononoke i find no reason for you to dislike nausicaa

And like there’s still so many other great Ghibli movies: Only Yesterday, The Wind Rises, Grave of the Fireflies, Tale of the Princess Kaguya, Kikis delivery service, whisper of the heart, etc

What was going on in the movie that had a real big resolve? The way the war ended felt pretty hammed fisted and flat. All the girl did was kiss that scarecrow which ended up being the missing Prince. Suliman instantly calls off the war. Witch of the Waste wasn’t even the big bad. Got snuffed out like half way into the movie. Howl comes off as charming, but he’s really unremarkable. He doesn’t really do anything of note, with exception of saving Sophie from Suliman.
