StayGoldMan i hate to see TPN slander, the next arc was about to be one of the best, s*** even the next after goldy pond is good.
People really just be talking s*** with no actual arguments, we hate to see itoutside of ktt and a few content creators the online anime community is toxic af
most of em call every new shounen the best ever while discarding everything else as trash and the worst part is they try to justify their ''hot or cold'' takes with ''objective'' reasoning

You just described KTT except replace new shounen with any shounen that is 1) old, or 2) currently hyped up by the anime community. I've seen people use the word "objectively" ITT too.
The level of discourse here isn't really that much better compared to the general anime community imo

maybe I'm kinda bias towards ktt
cause a lot of you have put me on good stuff and I'm more into talking about anime with people that dont own body pillows of waifus or that arent obsessed with certain characters
there's also the fact that I've talked with some of you bout other things outside of anime so I kinda value your input more

Ya I when I was talking about "old" shounen I was mostly referring to stuff like HxH or One Piece since we've somehow gotten to the point where a lot of fans consider stuff from pre-2010 to be "old."
I don't find it that surprising that nobody talks about pre-1990 stuff ITT tbh, it's just easier to talk about new seasonals because everyone is kinda experiencing it at the same time. And even if you wanted to talk about pre-1990s stuff you kinda gotta hope that the right crowd happens to be around who has seen it and wants to talk about it. This thread has a weird amalgamation of different types of anime fans who watch different s*** so it's probably even harder to get the timing right.

Personally, I usually divide "old" by splitting the 4:3 aspect ratio era with the 16:9 aspect ratio era. Either that or just anything from pre-2000s. I've found a lot of anime fans (particularly newer ones) consider stuff pre-2010 to be old though, so I've kinda adapted my use of the word to fit in and make sure I'm on the same page as the majority tbh.

Yeah your way makes sense since we're 20 years into the 2000s, my dumbass for some reason forgot eva, one piece, hxh, gto are quite old

SlimaneWell Steins;Gate is a top 10 anime, so mid compared to that is relatively good.
The only thing that was good about it was elements from the OG anime
The plot was either very slow or very goofy and convoluted, not funny or captivating like the OG anime, just a sequel that no one needed (the OG ending was already satisfying)
