SK8 animation has been consistently great so far. Best part is that production has already finished so there's no chance of everything melting later in the season.

man been wanting to watch an anime about skateboarding forever but need it to be about real street skating w/o characters who look like this

maybe skateboarding becoming an Olympic sport will get the anime creators to make a more realistic skate anime

I feel like you're unnecessarily gating yourself off of lots of good anime if you don't watch non-realistic stuff but we all got our preferences I guess.

horimiya ep this week was great, i thought it was kinda stagnating the past couple weeks but this one pulled me right back in really like the SoL vibes the show seems to be trending towards too

reading the HoriMiya manga atm and wow theres quite a lot they are skipping in the anime lol

I mean, the first 4 eps of the anime got me to care a lot about the central characters so I guess it still works, but its nice to get some more details with the manga.

Probably gonna read it and start from the beginning once the season ends. I feel like the anime does such a good job at creating special moments with the music and everything but I know I’ll probably like the manga still

Yeah i see some manga fans are like super pissed but won’t lie, so far there isn’t anything I’ve read in the manga that the anime skipped over where I felt it had to absolutely be in here

Theres some stuff I’ve read that is nice but there’s also quite a bit where I’m glad it was skipped because it makes certain scenes (especially the last 6-7 mins in this ep) feel a lot more special

But yeah I think as a result, I’ll probably finish the manga after this season ends

I assume because of the fact it’s skipping a decent amount from the manga, this will be a one off season which will make me sad.

by the time season 2 starts I prolly won’t even remember much of season 1 and I’m not big on rewatching tv series. rewatching movies is doable but sitting thru 20+ eps of something I’ve watched already just to refresh my memory before a new season starts tho <

streaming/Netflix releases really f***ed up my patience for weekly release type shows.

I’m usually pretty good with remembering a show even years after so that isn’t an issue for me. I mean I saw Full Metal Panic like 5-6 years before the new season dropped and I didn’t have to rewatch that at all lol

I would love to get a second season. But tbh, there’s a good chance they may actually try to finish this show by the 13th ep or maybe leave it in a position to finish it with OVAs or a movie with the way they’re skipping material. Tbh, I have heard from manga readers also that the manga goes to s*** after the main storyline ends so maybe it will be for the better

Yeah I’m not sure tbh. But it seems that the main storyline is over. It’s kinda weird because I have heard people say it goes to s*** after a certain point so maybe the one that is finished is the one everyone loves and the on going ones are the ones in contention

The main manga is still on going rn but it sort of just turns into a slice of life type s*** after after miyamura and hori get together which some ppl didn’t like because they liked the romance portion of it but I honestly wouldn’t mind reading it still . I’m liking the pacing either way for the anime tho. About time we get a MC that doesn’t wait 11 episodes to confess
