It was OK I guess? There were lots of little parts scattered throughout the show that felt like they could have been turned into something great, but their potential was just never fully realized.

At first, SSY seemed to be held together by looking at society in general, but it felt like it never delved that deep into it. The show would bring up a facet of society and just as quickly drop it to bring up a different facet. It felt like a first year university course where you get a tour of a subject, but not any of the information you get from the specialized courses in the fourth year. In addition, they spent like the last 25% of the show dropping almost everything that could be a commentary about society in favour of plot. So that was kinda lame.

The quiet, creeping horror as the characters discovered more about their world was great. There were a few moments that felt like lame infodumps but I think the world-building was genuinely pretty engaging, at least until they dropped it for plot.

So much potential, but I found that it didn't commit enough to one vision to suit my taste.

Also, Squealer did nothing wrong

Started collecting physical manga this month, collection is coming along nicely, still waiting for CSM 2 to arrive tho, have lots of JJK & CSM volumes pre-ordered too, they're a b**** to find in the UK tho, especially 2 - 5 of JJK

To everyone who liked S1 of TPN, check out Shadows House, it has the same mystery feel but as the story goes along it keeps getting better instead of turning into s***.
