1. A Wonderful New World - corporate setting, very toxic I love it. every aspect goated. art a bit rough at start but gets better real quick
2. Close as Neighbors - best story/writing imho
3. What Do You Take Me For - art style like western comic. vanilla like good
4. Don't Be Like This Son-in-Law - fairly new. demon time
5. Love Square - slice of life type read, this is like living a life

the dialogue is so f***ing flowery i couldnt take the show seriously.
the entire time all i could think about are fake deep highschoolers that post "deep" stuff on their social media all the time lmao
yea i agree, i hate the anime trope of teenagers talking and thinking in abstract poetry, and in oregairu's case somehow able to have group dialogues in it. while with s1 i kinda vibed with after some time getting used to it, s2's dialogue consistently breaks immersion for me to the point where i just begrudgingly accept it.
hopefully with s3 things get more explicit again with stuff actually resolving by then, since i guess im still invested and kinda following along.

almost done oregairu s2 and while i think i mostly understand the themes and direction its going, i can barely grasp anything that these people are actually saying at this point
mfs be conversing in riddles and abstract statements the whole season
Thanks for the reminder, I stopped watching that show when they went on grade class field trip at a resort or something. I couldn’t stand the main guy anymore, the way the wrote him was so off putting.
Think when I finish Rakugo I might jump into some s*** by Shaft

Fun read. Felt too goofy for me to keep on reading tho
count me aboard the vivy hype train too, honestly i found the first 2 episodes to be kinda boring but episode 3 sold me on it. the insert songs are really good too, its s*** like this that elevates an anime for me
only thing that im kinda iffy about is how the solution to AI warfare at surface level is just to not give AIs any rights, if this bear is to be trusted. it's just fiction though so it's w/e and hopefully the narrative will explore this theme in a more interesting direction than keeping AIs oppressed

I’m pretty sure it’s way deeper than that. They aren’t even really necessarily trying to stop AIs from getting rights considering they are fighting a group that wants to take away AIs rights lol

well the only reason that they went after the anti-AI group is because their actions inadvertently got the AI naming law passed and was a huge boon to the AI human rights movements, the actual goals of that anti-AI group were irrelevant.
still though i do agree with you that its likely setup for something more interesting, especially since that bear still seems a lil sus, but with anime original stories you can never be too sure, shoutout to wonder egg
