when you look for familiar staff what positions do you look for?

key animation?
storyboard?
directors?
something entirely different?

I need to catch up, I'm like 20 eps behind

I'm wondering tho....how can the animation in the OP and ED look better than the actual content

Mostly just the positions for stuff that I care about: storyboards, animation, and compositing.

Director - If I know them, well, I know them. If I don't know them, I check other shows they directed. If they've never directed an entire show before, I check to see what work they've done as an episode director or storyboarder for single episodes.

Chief Animation Director - Same process. I check if they've been a CAD before, or if they've been an animation director for single episodes. But this one is easier because if they've never been a CAD or AD before I can get an idea for their style and what they focus on by looking up their work on Sakugabooru (and I still do this anyways even if they have been a CAD or AD before.)

Photography Director - AniDB is my friend here.

I care about writing too, but I find more often than not a lot of it revolves around the source material so I'm not too worried about checking who is doing series composition.
