I suspect nothing for a long time will beat the 2019 line up
Winter - Slime, Mob, Dororo, TPN
Spring - KNY, AOT
Summer - Vinland Saga, Fire Force, Dr. Stone
Fall - MHA, Beastars
Every season had a AOTY contender
This MHA episode wasn't very good but it got me thinking about how performative their "hero" profession really is. It's less about being talented at saving people and more about being able to perform and present yourself as a powerful hero. It's oddly commercialized and presented as a truth instead of something we can doubt and criticize. Makes me agree with Hero Killer's agenda a bit.
As they say in the episode there's an increase of heroes but also an increase of villains. I wonder when they'll realize it's related and that maybe people having no superpowers is better. But whatever it's fun super hero anime.
Anyway next episode will be cool. We never saw a Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki focused arc so I have high hopes.
Might watch Colorful rn actually
have you seen the on gaku: our sound movie?

Haven’t seen it but just peeped the trailer and it looks pretty funny. Art style is interesting too. Adding this also
i f***ing hate hipsters, now people saying FMA Brotherhood is trash/overrated just because it’s the breaking bad of anime
tokyo revengers got a real good supporting cast honestly

Nah fr, I like everybody tbh and usually there’s at least a few characters in a show I find annoying
Was halfway through colorful and my friends asked me to go do some s*** i should’ve flaked
Giving HxH a break before the Chimera arc and reading OP, currently on chapter 92 and dont get me wrong is good so far but i dont feel any sense of danger? in these fights, like yeah they are cool but they dont feel serious plus there is always some comedy so it makes it even less serious cause i just know aint nobody dying. Also yes, i know most shonen are like that but idk
anyone peep this? Prolly gonna watch next
!https://youtu.be/KoqptivRx_0this was really cool.. that final performance

it's a slow burning shounen
it feels campy and silly at first but once it hits it hits hard
I cant tell you when exactly it gets good cause everyone got different things that sold em on it
Man the isekai genre getting ridiculous but lowkey it’s hilarious to me. Imma need them to animate the most bizarre isekai, just say f*** it we are going to find the most crazy LN or manga and just go nuts. I know there’s f***ing bonkers isekai LN out there and this is probably tame in comparison
Vivy my first 10/10 anime season in a long time. Brilliant show.
On to 86

East Blue is the most lighthearted saga and it gets more dramatic later.
I actually like that it's really lighthearted and funny like, you know the heroes will win anyway so you might as well make it fun. I think you're reading Arlong Park and after this arc I really liked the straw hats. They felt very connected.
But yeah it's not always like this. There's always humor but the world gets more intense and threatening.

I think it was already really good in the Baratie arc but it hasn't peaked yet

You a couple arcs away from what is personally a peak for me. Though I find most to be enjoyable.
