ryuHI honestly feel like Drake doesn’t like the studio album format, he’s always at his best with tapes, loosies, packs, colllab projects etc
Even the concept of More Life being a “playlist”
I think albums stifle his creativity and he probably thinks they are antiquated and he wouldn’t be wrong to think that honestly. Streaming reduced albums to a formality
He seemed to like it for Honestly Nevermind. But yeah EP and mixtapes are less restrictive. I feel like More Life playlist concept took off because a lot of post-2017 albums are just that, playlists, but no one calls them that because it feels derogatory

The pandemic set back a lot of growth and when Spotify and Apple went in on podcasts and other audio channels the music streaming side took a hit that we only just climbed out of last summer. And that was after Billboard gave more weight to radio again in response to the streaming dominance of 15-19 when too many rap hits charted higher than pop songs labels invested in. And while pop and country are back hip-hop isn't for a multitude of reasons apart from the occasional hit. So Miltdawg should've probably said streaming for rap is dying and not just streaming

Labels aren’t making money anymore
They just reselling AC/DC greatest hits over and over again and eating off of classic acts
