I mean, it’s obviously because there are so many guns here. This is as dumb as replacing America with Australia and guns with those insane creepy / deadly spiders they have there. Stop posting this like it’s clever; in fact, it’s insensitive.
Spiders don't Rob banks
they already suspended his reddit account but he def wasnt a political extremist (on any side), dudes entire account was standard liberal rhetoric but had sprinkled in posts about being suicidal. while he could have just been suicidal more generally, im not sure why he'd reference before doing the shooting otherwise
That's why you vote in politicians who aren't corrupt and 80 years old? Not really too difficult to get that.
You say this as if this is even remotely possible
This or banning guns will solve absolutely nothing.
So many of the shootings are with AR-15's because they're following the example of others before them. Even just banning that s*** would eliminate people following that path would probably reduce something. wouldn't fix the problem cause people could use other guns but it would at least show there is a willingness to try to work on the problem
“He said Sturgeon always wore a helmet during basketball games because he had suffered so many concussions. “The big thing I keep going back to is that in the first year of high school, we played football together in eighth grade, he was out most of the year because he had multiple concussions. Then he had a couple more in high school,” he said. “I’m not saying it’s the cause but I always think back to that… There were times I’d wonder, will this catch up with him? But never in this way. He’s the last person I'd expect would do this.”

Sure someone can go and vote and should if they want to but thats a pretty small method of participation and only comes along every 2-4 years
It's not enough. and shouldn't be the primary solution to these problems for everyday people
i agree, but this isnt really an exception or special case, they always do this. theres something going on here not being reported tho
what i was more pointing to are the exceptional details below;
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/us-news/breaking-louisville-shooter-connor-sturgeon-29675499
he texted a friend who he was gonna do it and to a bank specifically
livestreamed the entire thing (no archived footage somehow?)
had one message that said (from this article)
In one image a message is shared reading: "THEY WON'T LISTEN TO WORDS OR PROTESTS. LET'S SEE IF THEY HEAR THIS."
this is what that comes from, his public IG story
doesn’t necessarily seem politically motivated in what would be traditionally deemed a terrorist act (obviously there is a broader political context in which this act plays a part in, etc)
i think the guy was suicidal, felt extremely alienated from his life and job and snapped and decided to take others out with him unfortunately
posting kylo ren quotes before committing a mass shooting I guess we have the first redditor shooter
Votes protecting kids from being killed at school
So you're saying that by voting for competent leaders who aren't just being paid off by the NRA and are willing to enact gun control, or assault rifle bans won't do anything?

A civilization that breeds a unique type of crazy

At a local level get involved. It starts with that.
You say this as if this is even remotely possible
It is possible, from a local level support the politicians who are ready to make a change. There's plenty of ways to become active politically. The only reason these old people keep getting elected is that other old people are the ones who show up in largest numbers to the ballots.

It's mostly a post-2013 smartphone, hyper connected society, with no community left, based on pure narcissism and "late stage capitalism" which further alienates people. Used to be even in recent years or so, you had a larger primary group when it comes to socializing and socialization.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_social_groups
Primary group often included neighbors, work or school peers, and family. There were other ways (I can't find the exact word) that included things like church, hobbies, or sports. However nowadays with the lack of this people are secluded and lonely. Causing a massive uptick in mental disorders.
On the 3rd of 5 levels of human needs we reach community, friends, sexual activity, and so forth (anything with socialization). In the American life now we are becoming secluded and/or too coddled by technological advancements (which is argued by one of many psychologists) without having to either work for that happiness and socializing or having it being replaced by technology.
It's a scary thing to come, I'll say, because times really are changing. It's seemingly becoming for the worse.
