Is this the stand YouTube thinks it is? This just makes it easier to rig and makes the charts even less reflective of actual listening
They not wrong
every stream should be counted equally
Billboard is basically saying poor people streams don’t count the same
Sooner because realistically it's the largest streamer for video and music once they drop a chart of any kind it's over for Billboard
itd only be relevant if it counts every streaming service
Sooner because realistically it's the largest streamer for video and music once they drop a chart of any kind it's over for Billboard
I honestly hope so
if anything this is just reflective of the declining profitability in the music industry as corporations are using any method to get users to their platform and further corner any sliver of market
Sooner because realistically it's the largest streamer for video and music once they drop a chart of any kind it's over for Billboard
If that happens, YB and indie artists might win that s***
Ain’t nobody watching no damn video on Spotify
Music videos worked when there was a dedicated space to go specifically to watch them. MTV, YouTube…
Making them a feature within another app is never gonna work (plus there are already music videos on Apple Music that absolutely nobody watches)
I’m glad we thinking the same thing, because I’m seeing so many idiots on X/Twitter throwin ass for corporations saying that Spotify and Apple Music would kill the competition
YouTube would easily surpass both of them if they truly wanted to.

Idk man. People are lazy. If they can watch the video without leaving the app and without ads (cause nobody buys YT Premium) I think it could stick. They might even even roll out video comments eventually
Vertical music videos debuting on spotify and tik tok coming soon
lmaoo
I remember a few years back when everything was a s***ty "vertical video"
ugh I hate how money f***s up the art we receive, but I get it
if it don't make dollars, then it don't make sense
Yeah right now, I'm looking into the future
Same way Netflix just bought WB, I can see Youtube taking over in a similar fashion
People would've laughed at you for saying Netflix would be this big when they were sending out DVDs
The future is Hollywood and sports leagues being bought up Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon since they all have deep pockets.
For sure, but Youtube are no slouches, and I'm not saying it will happen, but it certainty wouldnt surprise me
Music videos are not as popular as they used to be 10 years ago, this is where youtube has less of an advantage compared to Spotify and Apple
YouTube slowly moving towards hiding the view number
AI companies already don’t have to reveal true stats. now they not submitting numbers. Gemini streamers otw!
Never gonna happen, record labels will make them show the view numbers public to keep user engagement high for their artists.
damn how many people are watching that still DRE video every month wtf
Same reason Michael Jackson still gets tens millions every month. Timeless music never dies off.

I don’t think YouTube bends the knee to any corporation, they literally just rebuked the labels biggest vehicle
pretty sure YouTube is like 3 times larger than each record label when it comes to revenue. they are the ones telling labels what’s up on their platform lol. YouTube content ID triggers a copyright claim
