It really annoys me when I see people put him in best rapper categories. If you want to give him props on his production that’s cool, I personally think it’s very overrated but I get it

But he’s legitimately not a good rapper in any metric

i guess beacuse the sats dropped one after another it felt like fantano was kinda on them heavy and brockhampton even giving fantano a shoutout makes me feel like he played a heavier part in their blowing up than peggy who I feel like got a bigger boost off all my heroes are cornballs compared to veteran

i feel like his artistry outshines his rapping ability
his production is varied and distinct enough all the time to let it slide when he talks about the same s***: hating alt right, poppin white people, twitter fingers, bruce banner into steve hawking etc

But again even that got more attention because Kevin was involved with it. Saturation had people calling it one of the best albums of the year before Fantano even reviewed it

The only notable thing JPEG did pre veteran was a song called “I Might Vote For Donald Trump” and he was only a feature on it

actually yeah i do remember the sat 1 buzz it was making hella waves

I personally dont even think his artistry is that great. He doesn’t really stand for anything or have a message. His albums don’t have a theme or individual unique sounds that separates them from one another

I think some of his production is cool, I can always appreciate some weird beats but I think it’s usually very overrated. For some reason he also completely gets a pass for using AI and straight up stealing the most notable beat off Veteran
